The Equinox and What I’m Trying to Balance

Tomorrow is the autumn equinox. It marks the beginning of a new season and the moment the Sun enters Libra.

In tropical astrology, Libra is a cardinal air sign ruled by Venus.

It is connected with relationships, reciprocity, proportion and the choices we make when we are not the only person involved.

The equinox is also a moment when day and night are almost the same length.

I’ve been thinking a lot about balance and priorities lately, and I think it makes sense that this is what has been on my mind as we approach Libra season.

There are many things I want to work on, but I also know that I need to take better care of myself.

I want financial stability. I want to work for myself. I want to build something that feels like mine and that has a positive impact on people’s lives.

But I also want to have time to enjoy my life.

I don’t want to spend all my time working towards a future that I never get to experience.

Lately, I’ve been tired, and I’ve noticed how easy it is to postpone rest until everything else is done.

But there will probably always be something else to do.

There will always be another task, another idea, another problem that needs attention. Sometimes it feels easier to keep working than to stop and notice how tired I actually am.

I also want to create more space for the things that matter to me.

I want to work on my own projects, communicate what I think and build something that can have an impact on other people’s lives.

But I also want to create a life that feels good to live while I am building it.

Libra is often associated with balance, but balance does not mean keeping everything exactly as it is.

It can also mean looking at the different parts of our lives and deciding what deserves our energy now.

What needs more attention?

What can wait?

What have I been trying to hold together simply because I’m afraid of what might happen if I let it change?

For a while, I thought I needed to find the perfect way to organise everything. The right plan, the right routine, the right moment to start.

But perhaps I don’t need to have everything figured out.

Perhaps I only need to be honest about what I can carry now.

The days change. Our priorities change. We change.

I still believe that things can get better.

From now on, it can always get better.

Not because every day will be easy, but because I can keep making different choices.

I can stop when I need to stop. I can change my priorities. I can let something wait without believing that I have failed.

The equinox is a moment of balance, but it is also a turning point.

It does not ask us to stay exactly where we are.

It reminds us to notice where we are before we move forward.

What are you trying to keep balanced right now?
